What are dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are custom-designed shells of tooth-like ceramic material. Veneers are applied over the tooth’s surface to cover up worn tooth enamel, tooth chips, cracks or uneven tooth alignment. This couples' smile is brighter and more beautiful with veneers from Dr. Ellenberg

Dental veneers are very thin, and usually require little, to no tooth reshaping, when bonded onto the tooth. Once veneers are bonded onto the tooth, they are relatively strong and durable.

The two most common dental veneers material are composite resin and porcelain.

Are you a candidate for dental veneers?

Dental veneers can help you restore cosmetic and general dentistry issues including:

Worn enamel, which over time can become dull, worn, or discolored.
Wear and tear, including chips or cracks.
Uneven teeth as the result of grinding or general wear.

What is the difference between bonding and veneers?

Bonding can help restore and repair small chips and cracks in the teeth. For more severe cases of chipping, cracking, spacing, discoloration or uneven teeth, dental veneers may be recommended as a more appropriate solution.

What is the difference between veneers and whitening?

Teeth whitening may provide whitening for mildly discolored teeth and will not help correct severely discolored teeth. The process of being fitted for veneers is more involved and also permanently alters the treated teeth. If you have severely dulled or discolored teeth, you may have to opt for dental veneers.
